Finnaly got Saiyuki Reload dvd 1 today...and am loving it-the Japanese version anyway. After watching the episodes in Japanese-I decided to sample the English version-I WISH I HAD NOT DONE SO!

Sanzo- Lex Lang's Sanzo is just plain stomach churing awful-as much as I disliked David Mantrenga's Sanzo,David Mantrenga's voice is MUCH better and much more suited for Sanzo then Lex Lang.Give me Toshihiko Seki ANY day.

Goku and Gojyo-just plain horid sounding...like nails on chalkboard

Hakkai: OH DEAR GOD...Hakkai comes out sounding like a very very very effimate Tootsie in the worst way imaginable! Give me the ADV dude's overly-snarky sounding Hakkai over this anyday!!!*retches*

The Japanese Seiyuu's are SO much easier on my ears...

I could MOSTLY handle the dub VAs...except for the random swearing o_o Hakkai especially...he managed "shit" about 3 times in his first dinky scene x_X

Thats one of the problems I had with both the ADV and the Genneon dubs...yes the guys swear quite a bit in the Japanese version-with the exception of Hakkai who rarely swears,but the dubs both seemed to add swear words in for no reason other than the fact that they could. Its almost as anoying as the pusudo-swearing of the DBZ dub.

*nods* is it so hard to get it RIGHT? I mean, Goku calls for his (powerpole *cough*) nyoibou (SP? x_X I forget how to spell that...), they replace it wiiith? "Oooh SHIT!"...poetic, right there x_X

I know we hate it when swearing gets removed for no reason, but throwing it IN for no reason is just as bad (Hellsing dub...good god in one ep my mother came upstairs asking me what the hell I was listening to O_o And she's used to hearing the likes of Billy Connolly and Chris Rock ranting from my TV..)
