Well, when the death penalty starts going under review because of critical flaws in the processing of inmates who were innocent, and your state goes "Y'know, I know everyone else is like 'Hey, we need to slow down and do this right, because killing innocent people is wrong' but I don't really care, since this is on my dime so I say we throw them into the shock box faster." you're actually saving money on taxes by essentially murdering some innocent people. I'd think that'd be a bigger deal, but I guess that only works if you have a sense of right and wrong.
