Hawk hit a skunk tonight on our way to the store and we passed it on the way home.My first time seeing a skunk both alive and dead too...and it was the same skunk! Unfortunately the stench was very strong with this one. Bleh...

Also-If RFB is really shutting down and not being used for attention whoring again...Im glad its shutting down. The maintainers(one of whom I know is KagenamiQ) were bringing down the entirety of the fandom with their bs. The drama whoring and Gojyo bashing got old real fast. KagenamiQ especially needs to realize she is far from being Gods gift to Saiyuki fandom and is in fact quite the opposite. While I appreciated the scans I really didnt appreciate the hoop jumping that needed to be done just to be able to see them. The excluding people for bullshit reasons was really wrong of them too.
And I get the feeling that the biggest reason for them shutting down RFB is simply because they arent the only source for getting scans now and they dont like that. Several times theyve whined that people have gotten scans from elsewhere before they had gotten around to posting on RFB.

[livejournal.com profile] saiyuki_manga is far better anyway with much friendlier mods and much better scans-not to mention stellar translations...&hearts,

I thought RFB was supposed to close sooner than it did, Kagenami announced it a while back so i was surprised to see the last two scan posts that were made but I guess now it is closed.

I wonder what the fandom will say when I speak about the "retirement" at the Saiyuki panel at Y-con.

I don't understand why people hate RFB so much! I thought the shut-down was due to a computer hard drive failure? (At least according to jttr) And the hiatus called in June was temporary due to rl issues but they would be back in Sept - which they were.

I keep getting the feeling I'm missing something...

Ooh. I must have missed a lot. (Er, then again I've only been active in fandom for a few months...)

Gojyo bashing? D: D: D: For real?

I agree that I also have NO idea what's going on. I guess because I avoided comments since my ex posted there and I simply gave my feedback and moved on. I really have no clue what the drama is, I guess it's best that way for me D: ?

AGREED on about RFB, so much so that I can't really give anything to that discussion that wouldn't be pure gossip warmongering.
(What I really hated was their 'best thing since sliced bread' attitude--which I was willing to put up with only because one could ignore their idiotic, asinine comments that for some reason had to accompany every post for the greater good...

And then saiyuki_manga, which IS the best thing since sliced bread for that fandom, appeared and all that went to pot.)

Also, poor skunk.

I agree with you whole-heartedly (heartidly?) about [profile] saiyuki_manga. The mods are great and so very nice to talk to.

I know RFB really rubbed some people the wrong way, but I enjoyed the humor they brought to their posts.

It's their decision to run their non-comm or their decision to stop, but I wont claim to understand their methods.

Thank you for speaking your mind on this. *mwah*

I'm very happy to be helping out fandom in any way I can. Freely and without ego. ;)

Not to defend RFB, but they didn't attack TJ, thank god. They asked some rude questions of her (like, asking for her to tell them what was available in fandom, file-wise) but they did apologize for the fact that she already had the "prize".

*sneaks in like a ninja to comment*

If I cheer will that be in poor taste? ;)

Because they're "Banri" and therefore like to bash and put down things and can get away with it because they're a "fictional character". Snort.

Oh man, sorry about the spamming comments. X)

I'll probably be unable to resist the "Burn it with fire." attitude. After all the drama they cause in a relatively calm fandom, they deserve all the glaring they can get.

You know, I have been in the Saiyuki fandom for a while and I managed to miss that, not sure how but I did. Maybe because I never entered any of their contests? Plus I always was at distance and while the information was good I never got too much into them. But man, can you react in a less unsavory when called out on something?

Meh... i kind of liked a bit if the banter, but most of it agree with you on. I only joined up to see the scans before they were translated.

Some people just don't know when to quit, and they should have quit sooner. I never commented because I was afraid of getting one of those dreaded hate comments just because I have Gojyo icons.
